Cine Paris!

The must-visit open air cinema in downtown Athens!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy a show under the stars with the unparalleled view of the Acropolis.

On an Athenian summer night, do as the Athenians do. Enjoy the unique experience of watching a movie under the sky at an open air cinema -a trademark of the local summer culture.

Cine Paris, located in a roof garden in the oldest quarter of Athens, the historic Plaka, is probably one of the most popular open-air cinemas for locals, mainly due to its fantastic location right underneath the Acropolis hill.

Cine Paris’ history goes back to the 20s, when a Greek hairdresser built the very first open-air cinema in Athens. She used to live in Paris so this is why the place was named after that.

There’s something extraordinary about sitting outside in the fresh night time air watching a new or classic film. I always chose to sit myself on the small balcony.

Looking to my left I can see the lit Acropolis through the trees. I settle back in my seat and enjoy my favorite movie under the Greek starry sky, along with a chilled glass of wine and a king size buttered popcorn bucket.

Always together with my gorgeous Sun Of a Beach bucket bag – The ideal companion for a summer movie night in downtown Athens!

Tip! Language will not be a problem for the non-natives as all films are subtitled.
